Harborough Hornets Raise £6,000 for Prostate Cancer Research.
Harborough Town Football Club is delighted to celebrate the success of another outstanding community initiative, as Harborough Hornets raised an incredible £6,000 for Prostate Cancer Research through a special 12-hour charity walking football event.
Held at the Harborough Town Community Stadium on Sunday 26th July, the event brought together players, supporters and members of the local community for a memorable day of football and fundraising.
Sixteen of the leading walking football teams from across the country, including a side representing England Walking Football, took part in matches throughout the day. One of the highlights was a special exhibition fixture featuring a celebrity team against the Kick Out Cancer Walking Football Team.
The celebrity side included former Leicester City captain Matt Elliott and former Leicester Tigers favourite Julian White, with the match attracting a large crowd and helping to raise awareness of the cause.
Visitors also enjoyed live entertainment from four local bands performing on the HFM stage, helping to create a fantastic atmosphere as several hundred people attended across the course of the day.
The event was a tremendous success and is another example of the positive impact that Harborough Town’s community initiatives continue to make, both on and off the pitch.

Together, they have helped raise vital funds in support of Prostate Cancer Research.
