Joint statement from The Harborough Town Football Board and Harborough Town Community Trust.
Following last weekend’s fixture with AFC Telford United, Harborough Town FC are aware of some anti-social incidents that involved a very small number of people.
Harborough Town FC can confirm that after careful viewing of video footage, bodycam footage and photos, the football club along with the help of Leicestershire Police have identified a number of persons that were intent on causing anti-social behaviour, both inside and around the ground, as well as an incident in the town Centre, later that evening.
The photos and videos that Leicestershire Police have received, clearly identify the people involved and names of these individuals have been passed to the Football club, by the authorities. As part of a joint collaboration with Leicestershire Police these people will be banned from attending Harborough Town FC matches with immediate effect, for the remainder of this season and possibly beyond.
Any further anti-social behaviour will NOT be tolerated and the same banning orders on entering the football ground will be applied, should any further incidents occur. Details will also be passed to security officers and police at away grounds confirming which individuals have been banned.
Harborough Town FC would like to remind all of our supporters that we are a community club and that Football should be enjoyed by all, in a safe and enjoyable environment. We would like to assure our supporters that this behaviour will NOT be tolerated and that we will eradicate this very small minority of people who are intent on causing anti-social behaviour.
May we also remind you that in line with teams playing at STEP 2 (National League), regulations state that anyone wishing to enter the grounds of a STEP 2 club who is under the age of 14 MUST be accompanied by an adult. Therefore, with immediate effect, If you are attending a Harborough Town FC match without an adult and the football club has cause to suspect you may be under 14 years of age, you may be asked that you show proof of identity and age before being permitted entrance to the Football ground.
It is a shame that the behaviour of a very small minority of people have made the Football Club enforce such stringent measures, but we want to reiterate that such behaviour will NOT be tolerated. We know and trust that our loyal supporters understand and appreciate the need to implement these new measures so that everyone can enjoy watching the football in safety and without incident.
