The club has taken the decision to ban all players from wearing micro/mini shin pads in all aspects of the game, which include training and match days.

This decision has been made by the club as they offer very little, if any, protection for players. The FA states shin guards must offer a ‘reasonable degree of protection’. As a club we feel that these micro shin pads do not offer the required protection and do not want to see any of our players suffer unnecessary injuries.

Therefore, in the interest of welfare and Safeguarding, standard, full-sized shin pads will be required for all matches (including friendlies) and training.

Team managers & coaches will therefore check shin pads before every training session and on match days. Anyone not wearing full-sized shin pads will unfortunately not be permitted to play.
