Harborough Town booked their place in the Isuzu FA Trophy Third Round with a confident and fully deserved 3–0 victory over National League South side Enfield Town at the Beehive.
The visitors started brightly, enjoying an early spell of possession that led to the first chance of the afternoon. Captain Mickey Parcell broke forward into space but dragged his effort wide of the post, offering Harborough an early warning.
From that point on, the Bees grew into the game and soon took control. Winger Dempsey Arlott-John, who proved a constant threat throughout the afternoon, forced the breakthrough in the 15th minute. His tenacity high up the pitch stopped Enfield from playing out, winning possession with a strong challenge before slipping the ball perfectly into the path of the advancing Brady Hickey. The midfielder strode onto it confidently and drilled a low finish into the bottom corner to give Harborough a deserved lead.
Enfield’s best opportunity came midway through the first half when Olly Davis drove forward and curled a powerful effort narrowly wide, but the visitors struggled to carve out clear openings against a well-organised Harborough back line.
The Bees made the ideal start to the second half. Josh Walsh dispossessed the Enfield midfield before Arlott-John’s clever movement opened up space on the right. Walsh lifted a precise cross to the far post where Riley O’Sullivan cushioned a header back across goal for debutant David Kamara, who nodded home to double Harborough’s advantage on 51 minutes.
Harborough continued to threaten, and the third goal arrived 20 minutes later following another incisive move. Arlott-John and Hickey combined neatly before Hickey clipped a ball in behind the defence for O’Sullivan. The forward poked the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper and, despite substitute Ben Stephens being brought down from behind as he followed up, O’Sullivan reacted quickest to smash his own effort into the net before the referee could point to the spot.
It was a professional, energetic, and thoroughly earned victory for the Bees, who impressed across the pitch and showed their quality against Step 2 opposition.
