Through its emerging talent programme, the Football Club now has a complete pathway from U12’s to First Team, ready for the 2024/25 season.

The final piece of the jigsaw was completed earlier this week with the formation of a new U21’s team that will feed into the first team. The new U21 team will be headed by Taj Loyal and Josh Unsworth. Both met with Maz Hayton Head of Football Development and Mitch Austin First Team Manager recently to conclude their appointments.

Maz Hayton commented; “This is an exciting period for the club and after several years working on an emerging talent pathway, we have now concluded every age group between U12’s and the U21 team. The aim now is to hold trials during the off-season for any U21 players wishing to progress in adult football with an ambitious football club already playing at step 4, and hopefully moving forward to step 3 and beyond.”

Taj and Josh commented; “We are delighted to be given the opportunity to develop these young men and allow them a platform to showcase their talent.”

More news will follow regarding trial dates, and in which league the new U21 team will play next season, but these remain exciting times in and around Harborough Town FC. #UpTheBees
