Harborough Town will take on Enfield Town at the Beehive in the Second Round Proper of the Isuzu FA Trophy, following today’s 1pm draw revealed on the FA’s official website.
The tie presents Harborough with their fourth higher league opposition of the season, with Enfield Town competing in the National League South. Managed by Gavin Macpherson, the Towners currently sit 20th in the table, one place above the drop zone, after securing just three wins from their opening thirteen league fixtures. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two clubs, with Enfield’s best run in the FA Trophy coming last season, reaching the Third Round before suffering a shock 4–2 defeat to Step 4 side Sittingbourne.
Founded in 2001, Enfield Town are often cited as the first fully fan-owned and run football club in the country. Since their inception twenty-four years ago, they have risen rapidly through the non-league system and exemplify the achievable success of community-driven clubs.
The fixture is provisionally scheduled to be played on Saturday, 15th November, with a 3 pm kick-off. Ticket information will be announced in due course.
Elsewhere in the draw, there are several notable ties involving fellow Southern League Premier Central sides, including AFC Sudbury v Hereford, Bishop’s Stortford v Cheshunt, and Alvechurch v Real Bedford. Fierce local rivals Corby Town also face a tough trip to Kidderminster Harriers.
With the introduction of Step 2 sides, the competition now feels like it’s really hotting up, and fans across the divisions will be eagerly anticipating another exciting weekend of Isuzu FA Trophy action.
