Kennedy

Captain Connor Kennedy (CK) joined the Bees in 2023 following his time with Peterborough Sports. The defensive midfielder has been part of two promotion-winning sides during his time in yellow. CK was named Directors’ Player of the season in his debut campaign at the club after playing a vital role in their play-off triumph. Kennedy was handed the captain’s armband during the 25/26 season after previous skipper Ben Willams stepped down from the position. Manager Mitch Austin clearly made the right decision to award him with accolade as CK then captained the side to the Southern Premier Central title.

When interviewed about his new role in the team, Connor Kennedy described how he sees himself as a Roy Keane figure. “I’m not as loud in the changing room, but on the pitch I’ll try and pull people about and help them out.” Providing a good balance for his teammates has proven effective as the team now see themselves as a threat in the National League North. A start that was never predicted during the club’s first ever season at Step 2. With previous National League experience playing for Peterborough Sports, it was no surprise that Kennedy would score early on this season. The Harborough captain netted the opener for the Bees in their 4-2 home victory against Darlington.

Moving forward this season there are no doubts that Connor Kennedy will remain skipper for the side. The former Kettering captain will continue to lead the side in his same gracious manner. CK continues to establish himself as a Harborough man as he reached 100 appearances in October 2025. He is not just a captain because of his armband, but because of his involvement during the club’s rise and some of our biggest moments. An example of this would be scoring twice in Harborough’s victory over AFC Rushden and Diamonds in their 4-1 FA Trophy success last season and being rewarded with Player of the Match.
