Harborough Town Under 21s continued their impressive league form with a dominant and ruthless performance, dismantling GNG Oadby Town Development 8–0 in a one-sided contest that showcased the Young Bees’ attacking quality and maturity throughout.
From the opening stages, Harborough set the tempo, moving the ball sharply and pinning the visitors deep inside their own half. The breakthrough arrived in the 12th minute following a well-worked move. Skipper Archie O’Donnell showed great vision to slip Bakari Fubert clean through on goal, and the forward made no mistake, dispatching his finish confidently to give the Young Bees an early lead.
The pressure continued to mount, and just minutes later the advantage was doubled. Centre-back Thomas Hoey picked out Saad Hamrad with an outstanding 50-yard diagonal pass, and Hamrad continued his excellent scoring form by rounding the goalkeeper before slotting home to make it 2–0.
Harborough remained in complete control for the remainder of the first half, with Zak Gillespie proving a constant nuisance for the GNG defence. His relentless movement and direct running caused repeated problems, and he was eventually brought down inside the penalty area. Captain O’Donnell stepped up and calmly dispatched the spot-kick past the goalkeeper’s left-hand side, sending the Young Bees into the break with a commanding 3–0 advantage.
The second half followed much the same pattern, with Harborough maintaining their dominance both in and out of possession. The introduction of substitute Oliver Price added further energy and attacking threat, and the winger made an immediate and decisive impact on the contest. Price stole the show with a devastating 25-minute hat-trick, finding the net three times in quick succession as the Bees cut through the Oadby defence with ease.
The scoring was rounded off late on by 16-year-old Gui Rodrigues, who showed excellent composure to finish coolly with his right foot and complete an emphatic 8–0 victory for the Young Bees.
After the game, U21 Head Coach Josh Unsworth praised his side’s performance and mentality, saying:
“I’m over the moon with the maturity levels the lads are showing.
We were so convincing all over the pitch today, and the subs came on and made a real impact — especially Ollie Price coming on and grabbing an impressive hat-trick.”
Another outstanding league display from Harborough Town U21s, underlining both their quality and depth as they continue to build momentum this season. 🐝
