Emirates FA Cup First Round Qualifying
Harborough Town 0-0 Darlaston Town
There was nothing to split Harborough Town and Darlaston Town as the sides played out a goalless draw in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round. The Bees created half chances as they looked to beat the away side’s high press, but long ranged efforts from Ryan Inman and Josh Walsh failed to test James Storer in the Darlaston net. The first chance for the visitors came via the penalty spot as Tyler Bruck beat Alex Morris to the ball in the area, but James Rowland could only find the base of the post, with Elliott Taylor diverting the ball wide to prevent the rebound. Not long afterwards, Darlaston were denied once more, this time by Amar Sandhu who timed his last-ditch tackle to perfection, before putting his body on the line to block a certain goal at the far post as the score remained level at the break.
Opportunities then came for Harborough as they saw lot of the ball in the second half, with Connor Kennedy diverting his header into the arms of Storer, before Luis Rose volleyed his effort just wide of the post in what was the host’s best chance of the game. Darlaston looked to end the half strongly, but the all-important goal did not materialise for either side, meaning it will take a replay to determine who progresses into the next round.
