AFC Market Bosworth 1
Leicestershire League – Div 2
Sunday 9th February, 2025
Harborough Town Women continued their impressive run of form with a dominant 9-1 victory over AFC Market Bosworth on Sunday, securing their fourth consecutive win. Despite several key players being unavailable for Sunday’s game, Harborough’s reshuffled line-up delivered a confident and commanding performance. A late fixture reversal meant Harborough enjoyed home advantage, making good use of the club’s main pitch and facilities. Harborough wasted no time asserting control, with Kylie Fromant converting an early penalty to open the scoring. This set the tone for an entertaining attacking display as Dom Ratcliffe-McClelland, Emma Chantler, and Honour Slater saw Harborough go into half-time with a commanding 5-0 lead.
Harborough maintained their intensity after the break, with Honour Slater completing her hat-trick and Emma Chantler adding a second to her tally. Right-back Georgia Turner also cemented herself on the scoresheet, highlighting the team’s all-around strength. Market Bosworth managed to pull one back in the 75th minute, but Dom Ratcliffe-McClelland once again closed out the scoring for a comprehensive 9-1 victory.
Harborough now turn their attention to back-to-back league fixtures against Saffron Dynamo. Having edged past them in a cup match on penalties earlier in the season, these upcoming encounters will be a tough challenge. However, two victories could put Harborough in an excellent position as they approach the latter stages of the season. Thank you to all the supporters who came out to watch!
Huge congratulations to right winger, Honour Slater, for her three-goal contribution that supplied Harborough with a comfortable lead, earning her POTM for her performance.
