The Beehive plays host to another round of Enterprise National League football on Saturday as AFC Telford United travel to take on The Bees. The last time these two sides met was in the 2024/25 season in the Southern League Premier Division Central. The Bees failed to win either time that season, losing 2-1 at The Beehive and drawing 0-0 at the SEAH Stadium in the return fixture.
All signs suggest a captivating contest that’s certain to prove a stern test for both camps. Bees’ manager Mitch Austin focussed on his own side when looking forward to this fixture. He said: “The key is to reflect, feel disappointed and then regroup.” Later adding: “I’ll try to get the best out of them next weekend.”
AFC Telford United were formed in May 2004 following the collapse of Telford United. After the club inherited the fanbase, colours, stadium and traditions, the club quickly climbed back up the non-league pyramid. The club reached the National League but were relegated back to the National League North in 2015. This is where they competed until the 2022/23 season, when they were relegated to the Southern League Premier Central. However, it wasn’t long before they made their way back up, losing in the play-off final in their first season after finishing runners-up and then winning the play-offs, securing their place back in the National League North, where they finished 11th last season.
Manager Kevin Wilkin took charge of the club in October 2022. He had previous experience of managing in the National League North after managing Brackley Town for seven seasons. Wilkin played in the Football League for Northampton Town, making 78 appearances for the side. He also played for clubs such as Cambridge City, Grantham Town and Nuneaton Borough, where he started his managerial career.
Telford did not get off to the best of starts this season, losing their opening two games against Brackley Town and Worksop Town. Over their next four games, they picked up two draws and then managed to get their first win of the season in their seventh game away against Scarborough Athletic, and then followed that up on Tuesday with a victory at home over Oxford City, not conceding in either of these wins, and will be looking to extend this run.
The Bees will have to keep a close eye on multiple of The Bucks’ players throughout the game, none more than Matt Stenson. The striker is The Bucks’ top goalscorer this season, scoring four of his side’s eight goals. At the other end of the pitch, goalkeeper Lewys Benjamin has kept two clean sheets in their previous two matches. The 19-year-old shot-stopper is on loan at The Bucks from Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers and will be hoping to pick up another clean sheet. Recently signed Mal Benning holds a wealth of experience across the EFL, having made over 500 professional appearances in his career spanning over a decade. The left-back played 21 games for Shrewsbury Town in League Two last season, and since signing for The Bucks, all he has known is victory, coming in for their last two games.
Harborough will be hoping to bounce back after losing their first game at home since April 2025 in Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat to Hereford FC. Before this, The Bees had won every game at home this season, beating Morecambe 1-0 and coming back from behind to beat Darlington 4-2 and Marine 2-1.
This is the first time this season that The Bees have lost back-to-back games, but despite this, The Bees have held their own and proved they belong at this level in the club’s debut season at this level. After eight games, three wins, two draws and three losses is a platform to build on this season against established sides in this division. There is no doubt the fans have contributed this season, backing the team in every match and even clapping The Bees off on Tuesday night despite the result.
Striker Britt Assombalonga leads the way with goals this season, having scored three goals this season, closely followed by Riley O’Sullivan with two. Both will hope to add to their tallies at the Beehive on Saturday afternoon against the Bucks.

Segregation
Crowd Segregation will be in operation at the Beehive for this fixture.
Home Supporters should enter via the turnstiles to the right of the clubhouse.
Away Supporters should enter via the turnstile to the left of the clubhouse and will be situated at the top end of the ground, with dedicated bar, food and toilet facilities available.
All supporters are advised to follow the instructions of our volunteers on arrival, who will be on hand to assist with any enquiries.
Home Supporters
Home Supporters are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance through Fanbase.
Advance purchase will help supporters enjoy a quicker and smoother entry into the stadium on matchday.
Following the closure of advance online sales, any tickets will be available to purchase on the gate from 1.30pm.
Away Supporters
Tickets for away supporters are available online only via the Harborough Town FC Fanbase Ticketing Platform.
Advance online sales will close at 11.00am on Saturday 12th September 2026.
There will be no away ticket sales on the gate on the day of the match. Any away supporters arriving without a valid advance online ticket will be refused entry.
Away supporters are therefore advised not to travel without first purchasing their ticket online.
