Thurmaston Kits 2
Leicestershire League – Division 2 Sunday 4th May 2025
Harborough Town Women returned to their winning ways on Sunday with a 9-2 victory over Thurmaston Kits at home.
Jasmine Hayes opened the scoring at the 11 minute mark with a top-class finish, but not a minute later, Thurmaston also found the back of the net to equalise. Minutes later, the hosts were awarded a penalty, which they converted comfortably to take a surprising early lead and put Harborough on the back foot. After a turbulent opening 15 minutes, Harborough began to take control of the game.
Harborough Town Women striker and the leagues top goal scorer, Jess Seaton pulled a goal back to equalise before left winger, Emma Chantler also added her name to the scoresheet. Jess Seaton doubled her tally in the latter stages of the first half with an assist from midfielder, Dom Ratcliffe-McClelland, giving Harborough a 4–2 advantage at half-time.
The second half saw a continuation of Harborough’s momentum and commanding play, with a second half hatrick+1 from Jess Seaton with goals in the 47’ ,66’ ,67’ ,81’ minutes. In true fashion, Dom Ratcliffe-McClelland closed out the scoring with a last minute goal, bringing the final score to a confident 9-2 win to Harborough.
Congratulations to Sunday’s POTM, Jasmine Hayes. Not only is Jas’ work rate unmatched but the Harborough midfielder scored a screamer in the first half to open the scoring for the team.
