The champions signed off a remarkable season in style, claiming a 4-2 away victory to extend their incredible winning streak to 21 consecutive matches and round off the campaign on another high.

Harborough started brightly and looked dangerous from the opening stages, applying pressure high up the pitch and moving the ball with confidence. The breakthrough arrived through Lovell Edwards after an excellent move down the left-hand side. Cyprian Mtenga released Edwards with a well-weighted pass, and although his initial effort was blocked by the goalkeeper, he reacted quickest to slot home the rebound and score his 16th goal of the season.

The Young Bees doubled their advantage soon after with an excellent high press from Oliver Price, whose energy and determination forced a mistake deep inside the opposition half. His work created the opening for Shaan Virk, who received the ball inside the six-yard box before calmly finishing into the bottom corner to make it 2-0.

The hosts responded when sloppy possession from Harborough allowed Jeremy Antwi to reduce the deficit and make it 2-1, giving Godmanchester a route back into the contest before the break.

Harborough quickly restored their two-goal cushion with a superb piece of skill from Mtenga, who continued to cause problems throughout the afternoon. Beating two defenders on the left-hand side with quick feet and composure, he delivered a perfect cross for Oliver Price to tap in from close range and extend the advantage once again.

Mtenga then added a goal of his own to cap an outstanding display. Picking the ball up on the left, he drove forward confidently before cutting inside and curling an unstoppable effort beyond the helpless goalkeeper to further underline Harborough’s dominance.

Godmanchester managed a late second goal against the run of play, but it proved nothing more than a consolation as the champions closed the campaign with another impressive victory to complete a memorable season in emphatic fashion.

After the match, U21 Head Coach Josh Unsworth said:

““It’s wrapped up what has been an unbelievable campaign for us.”

“Also seeing Archie O’Donnell being promoted and making his league debut is just the icing on the cake.”

“I believe we have the best young players in the midlands at this club, it’s down to them to carry on working hard and be patient for their moment to come.”
