Another Clean Sheet As Osborne Separates Bees and Saints
The first chance of the game came for St Ives Town when number 9 got in behind the backline and forced goalkeeper Alex Fisher into an early save.
Harborough had their first chance of the game in the 18th minute when Prince Mancinelli got brought down just outside the box, and the free kick went just over the bar by Terrel Pennant.
The Bees had another chance in the 27th minute when a free kick was whipped in from wide that got headed back across goal by George Carline to Rob Morgan, whose header went just over the bar.
The next chance came for the Bees in the 35th minute when Pennant pulled a cross back to Riley O’Sullivan whose strike was blocked by a St Ives defender.
The Bees kept the pressure on in the minutes that followed, having multiple attempts that flashed across the face of goal.
Just before half-time, Pennant got on the end of a long ball, and his shot forced a good save down to the goalkeeper’s left.
The first chance of the second half came for St Ives in the 51st minute when number 15 volleyed a shot, forcing a save from Fisher.
The Bees took the lead in the 53rd minute when Sam Osborne won the ball back, pulled a cross back which fell to halftime substitute Danny Newton, who hit a shot which Osborne helped across the line.
The next chance of the game came in the 71st minute when St Ives number 19 hit a speculative shot from outside the box which went wide of the goal.
The Bees had a chance to double their lead in the 78th minute when Callum Powell was inches away from getting on the end of a cross.
Osborne had another chance in the 87th minute after he made space on the edge of the box, forcing a save from the St Ives keeper.
The Bees’ next game is away at Quorn AFC on Saturday 25th July at 1pm.
