The young bees continued their impressive run of form on Friday night against a stubborn Hednesford Town Development team. Jutorre Burgess opened the scoring with a beautiful curled finish from 20 yards before skipper Oliver Berry doubled the young bees lead. The visitors pulled a goal back from a corner, before Tristen Thomas scored his first goal for our U23s to make it 3-1 and then Hednesford Town again pulled a goal back just before the half-time whistle. The second half saw our bees run rampant with Oliver Berry scoring another to extend the lead. Josh Berwick finished off a superb team goal to make it 5-2, and Shaan Virk scored his first goal with the U23s to make it six!
Joint managers Josh and Taj were pleased, Josh quoting; “Good win. Good football again from our boys against a stubborn team who didn’t give up, we were clinical when we had to be”, Taj adding; “it’s another good night for us, the lads had to dig deep, a few injured and away but the lads who played tonight really fought for their places”.
