Harborough Town can confirm that Club Captain Ben Williams will leave the Bees this summer, bringing to a close a remarkable 12-year association with the football club. 🐝

After making his senior debut back in December 2013 against Peterborough Northern Star, Ben has made an incredible 445 appearances and scored 95 goals, establishing himself as the club’s longest-serving player.

Across more than a decade in yellow and black, Ben has played a key role through multiple stages of the club’s development, helping the Bees rise through the non-league pyramid and playing a pivotal role in some of the most significant moments in the club’s recent history.

Ben’s contribution extended far beyond statistics alone. His consistency, professionalism and connection with supporters made him a familiar and respected figure around the football club, with generations of teammates sharing the dressing room alongside him during his time as a Bee.

As the club prepares for its first-ever season at Step 2, Ben departs having played a major role in helping establish the foundations that have taken Harborough Town to this point.

Harborough Town FC Seniors Chairman, Pete Dougan commented:-

Ben has been an unbelievable servant to the club starting his journey as a 5 year old at the club before being scouted by other academy clubs at the time. I recall trying to get Ben back to the club for a couple of years before he finally agreed.

Ben is an exceptional footballer that has held this club together through good and bad times, but more than that he is an exceptional person and we wish him nothing but success and happiness in his future life with Holly and his girls.

A true gent and respected person that for me personally will be strange not to see him in the changing room next season.

Everyone at Harborough Town would like to place on record their sincere thanks to Ben for his outstanding service, commitment and contribution across the past 12 years.

Ben leaves the football club with the respect and appreciation of teammates, staff, volunteers and supporters alike, and everyone at the Beehive wishes Ben and his family the very best for the future.

Thank you for everything, Skip 💛🖤
