Leicestershire League – Division 2
Sunday, 2nd March 2025

Harborough Town Women extended their winning streak to six with a commanding 5-0 victory over Thurmaston Kits on Sunday. Facing their opponents for the first time, Harborough were quick to prove their excellent form. League top scorer Jess Seaton opened the scoring in the 12th minute and doubled her tally just a minute later. She went on to complete her hat trick in the 31st minute before left winger, Emma Chantler added a fourth just moments later, giving Harborough a comfortable lead at half-time.

With the game under control, Coach Harry Fordham took the opportunity to rotate the squad, ensuring valuable game time for all players. Scarlett Godefroy sealed the win in the 68th minute, rounding off another excellent team performance. Thurmaston had a few dangerous attacking moments, but Harborough’s defence stood firm to maintain a clean sheet throughout the full 90. A great defensive display from Lucy Mister earned her POTM this week owing to her defensive discipline and brilliant game reading.

Harborough return home next week to face Coalville Town in what we anticipate to be a tough test. We’ll also be using this opportunity to mark International Women’s Day and are excited to invite Harborough Town and Coalville Town supporters to our Community Football Ground to celebrate the occasion with us!
