Leicester City Ladies Devs 1
Harborough Town Women 7 (Jess Seaton 8’, 10’, 22’, 36’, 49’, Honour Slater 10’, Scarlett Godefroy 66’)
Leicestershire League – Division 2
Sunday 2nd February, 2025
Harborough Town Women secured another three points on Sunday with a dominant 7-1 victory over Leicester City Ladies Development in very muddy conditions, marking their third consecutive away win.
The goals came thick and fast this week, a contrast to last week’s match where the Bees endured a first-half goal drought before breaking through in the 48th minute. Jess Seaton opened the scoring on Sunday in the 8th minute and went on to net three more before halftime, but not before right-winger Honour Slater put her name firmly back on the scoresheet. Leicester managed to pull one back just before the break, but Harborough went into second half with a commanding 5-1 lead. The second half saw a more controlled performance, with Harborough using their advantage to dictate play. Seaton added another to her tally before midfielder Scarlett Godefroy rounded off the scoring with a beautifully executed lob over the keeper, sealing the 7-1 victory.
A special mention to defender Heidi Hall, who earned Player of the Match for her solid defensive display, cutting out Leicester’s attacks early on. Next up, Harborough travel to AFC Market Bosworth in search of their fourth consecutive away win and another crucial three points.
