Harborough Town Women 3 (Jess Seaton 1’, 5’, 24’(p))
Brookside Athletic 3 (29’, 39’, 90’)

Harborough Town Women put in another solid performance on Sunday, coming away with a draw against a very tough opposition.

Harborough started strong, going 3-0 up in the first 30 minutes with two clinical goals coming from Harborough striker, Jess Seaton, in the first five minutes! Less than 10 minutes later, Jess completed her hatrick after beating the keeper from the spot with a well-placed penalty. Brookside quickly responded with two goals of their own, bringing the score to 3-2 at half time.

The second-half largely remained goal-less with both teams’ continuing to battle hard. Brookside did well to overload Harborough’s defence on a number of occasions, but vital clearances from the back line and stand-in keeper, Jody Knight, thwarted the opposition’s attacks. It wasn’t until the 90th minute that a well hit strike from Brookside saw the away team grab a very late equaliser.

Huge well done to Harborough midfielder,  Scarlett Godefroy, for getting this week’s player of the match! Scarlett battled from start to finish, often being first to the ball in the middle third and created several attacking opportunities for the team.
