Harborough Town Under 21’s:  Alex Fisher, Jarred Rawlins (Gui Rodrigues 45’), Charlie King, Thomas Hoey, James Flint, Leighton McWilliams (Yuvraj Shergil 70’), Bakari Furbert, Cyprian Mtenga (Riley Simpson 70’), Chulu Johnson, Zak Gillespie, Ollie Price (Archie Woolmer 70’).

The Young Bees produced an incredible late comeback to secure all three points at Kettering Nomads, with Chulu Johnson scoring his second of the afternoon in the 100th minute to seal a dramatic 3-2 victory.

Harborough had initially fallen behind inside the opening six minutes, but responded strongly and turned the contest around after the break through Johnson and Ollie Price.
Despite being reduced to ten men and then conceding an 85th-minute equaliser, the Young Bees refused to settle for a point, with Johnson striking deep into stoppage time to secure a memorable victory.

The Young Bees found themselves behind in the sixth minute following a moment of miscommunication between Alex Fisher and Bakari Furbert.
Kettering Nomads took full advantage, with Shane Martin on hand to tap home from close range and give the hosts an early 1-0 lead.

Harborough responded positively to the setback and began to create opportunities as they searched for a way back into the contest.
The Young Bees enjoyed promising moments going forward and had a number of chances to restore parity, but frustratingly could not find the finishing touch required to get themselves back on level terms.

Despite creating opportunities to equalise, Harborough went into the interval trailing by the solitary goal.

Half Time: Kettering Nomads 1-0 Harborough Town U21’s

Kettering Nomads emerged after the interval seemingly determined to protect their advantage, slowing the game down and looking to manage proceedings as they attempted to see out their narrow 1-0 lead.

The Young Bees continued to push forward, however, and eventually got the reward their pressure deserved in the 58th minute.

⚽ 58’ — 1-1 | Chulu Johnson
Cyprian Mtenga found Chulu Johnson out wide, with the Harborough forward driving inside before producing a composed finish into the near-post corner to bring the Young Bees level.

Having finally found their equaliser, Harborough quickly looked to build on the momentum and completed the turnaround just nine minutes later.

⚽ 67’ — 1-2 | Ollie Price
A brilliant one-two between Ollie Price and Zak Gillespie opened up the Kettering defence and created the opportunity for Price to race through.

With the chance opening up in front of him, Price showed excellent composure to finish across the goalkeeper and into the net, putting the Young Bees ahead for the first time in the afternoon.
Just three minutes later, however, the game took another unexpected turn.

🟥 70’ — Bakari Furbert sent off
Following his substitution, Furbert was shown a red card while walking off the field of play, leaving Harborough with ten men for the remainder of the contest.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, the Young Bees continued to compete brilliantly as they looked to protect their slender advantage.
Kettering continued to search for a way back into the game, and with five minutes of normal time remaining, they found it.

⚽ 85’ — 2-2 | Lewis Milne
Against the run of play, Lewis Milne found the equaliser for Kettering Nomads to make it 2-2 and set up a dramatic finale.

Having fought their way from behind and then seen their advantage disappear while playing with ten men, Harborough could easily have settled for a point.

The Young Bees, however, weren’t finished.
Deep into stoppage time, there was still time for one final opportunity.

⚽ 90+10’ — 2-3 | Chulu Johnson
Leighton McWilliams drove forward with the ball before threading a superb pass through to Johnson.

With the game on the line, Johnson remained cool, calm and collected.
He kept his composure before slotting the ball beyond the goalkeeper to score his second of the afternoon and spark wild celebrations amongst the Young Bees.

The 100th-minute winner completed an incredible afternoon for Harborough, who had recovered from an early deficit, fought back to take the lead and then responded once again after being reduced to ten men and pegged back late on.

It was a remarkable display of character from Josh Unsworth’s side and one which ensured all three points headed back to Harborough following a dramatic 3-2 victory.

Head Coach Josh Unsworth said:

“The character my boys shown today was incredible. 10 men, to go and win it, wow. I’m speechless.
These lads are just the most incredible young footballers I’ve ever got the privilege to work with.”
