Harborough Town defeated Lye Town for the second time this season as a Dan Brookes own goal settled a game that would not be remembered as a classic.

The Bees started brightly, with Dodzi Agbenu’s dipping effort forcing Joshua Bishop into an acrobatic save, but could not break the deadlock despite additional efforts from Paul Malone.

A goal finally came on the stroke of half time as Lye Town’s Dan Brookes diverted a low cross into the back of his own net to give the hosts the lead going into the break.

The visitors grew into the game from the second half and stung the palms of James Dadge through Ben Billingham’s shot, before Joe Palmer forced the Harborough keeper into a double save as the Bees kept hold of all three points.
