Harborough Town left it late as they struck twice to claim all three points against a resilient Sporting Khalsa side.

The game started off with half chances for Harborough’s Connor Kennedy and Khalsa’s Toumani Sidibe, but both saw their efforts blocked.

Kai Tonge would have the best chance of the first half as his free header bounced on the wrong side of the post from the home side’s point of view as the Bees gained dominance over the ball.

Khalsa aimed to hit the hosts on the break in the second half and looked to have carved out the perfect opportunity as Sean Williams was played in behind, but he drove his shot wide of the post.

The half progressed with little chances as a midfield battle ensued, until Harborough released their own ball behind the defence, with Tonge poking it past the on-rushing Sam Arnold and slotting into an empty net to put his side in the lead.

With seconds remaining, Dodzi Agbenu drove into the box and stroked the ball calmly into the bottom corner to secure victory for the Bees.

Harborough Town 2 (0)
Tonge (81) Agbenu (90)

Sporting Khalsa 0 (0)
