A message from Mitch

As 2021 draws to a close I want to wish all our members, supporters, sponsors, staff, players and trustees/committee a very happy and prosperous new year. Since joining Harborough Town 14 months ago I have loved the ambition, the atmosphere, and the facilities that the club offers to everyone from age 5 to 75, it is unbelievable and a club that the town of Market Harborough should support in great numbers.

We are ambitious and with the tireless work of all the coaches across the 56 teams, staff, and trustees the future is looking very bright. With your support and continued efforts, we hope we can take this club to where we all want to be. To all our club coaches keep up your excellent work, you are supplying the club’s future players. To Maz and her staff, thank you for everything you do, it is greatly appreciated by all. To the trustees and committee thank you for your support. To my players and staff, you are all fantastic and a credit to the club. Finally, a big shout out to the town of Market Harborough, the football club has its biggest game in its history on Saturday 15th January, when we take on North Shields in the 4th round of the FA Vase, it would be fantastic to see a record crowd to help the team progress, be our 12th man and help take the club one step closer to Wembley!

Enjoy your evening, stay safe and healthy and let’s all look forward to a great 2022.

Mitch Austin
First Team Manager

A message from Pete

As 2021 draws to an end HTFC can look forward to a bright and prosperous 2022. The senior section is rightly proud of what’s been achieved so far this season and long may it continue: the first team sit 2nd in the league with the excitement of a 4th round FA Vase tie at home in mid-January, with Tony Sansome’s reserve team also occupying 2nd place in their league. We now have a second vets team, along with some new faces in our Sunday team and ever growing numbers are playing walking football.

The first team FA Vase match against North Shields at home on Saturday 15th January, manager Mitch Austin and his team are aiming to make history for the club. Since his appointment in November 2020 Mitch has taken the club on an unbelievable record of 34 games, 29 wins, 1 draw and 4 defeats – at any level of football a great return, and rightly sees the club at their highest league position at the halfway point of a season and the furthest run in the FA Vase in the clubs history. Well done to Mitch, your staff and of course the players!

I wish all our members, staff, trustees, sponsors, and supporters a very happy new year and look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to the FA Vase match on the 15th January at the Beehive to witness, what we hope, will be further history making and to help the team continue on this fantastic journey which we hope will see us at Wembley in May!! Take care, have a great night, stay safe and healthy.
