Harborough Town started strong with a flurry of shots from Lucy and Jasmine, and an on-target free-kick from Scarlett. But it was Lauren’s well-placed volley from a corner kick that gave Harborough Town a 1-0 lead early in the first half. Despite Borough Alliance’s strong attacks on the right wing, the Queen Bees’ defence held firm for the first 30. Georgia extended Harborough’s lead to 2-0 with a clinical finish however Borough Alliance responded swiftly with two goals of their own, levelling the score to 2-2 by half-time.

The second half saw both sides enjoy spells of possession with the Bees creating some great chances through the middle. Eventually, Lauren scored a decisive goal, slotting home a through-ball from Sabrina after beating the keeper, one-on-one. The Bees maintained good possession and had several opportunities on goal with further shots from across the midfield. Pushing for an equaliser, Borough Alliance mounted a strong attack, but Harborough Town’s defence stood strong denying their opponents any clear-cut chances. Attacks through the middle from Kylie and Scarlett maintained pressure on Borough Alliance until the final whistle.
