This will be the first time that the two sides have matched up against one another. Hebburn Town currently sit 13th in the league, which will prove to be a close contest for the Bees, who are 16th. Saturday’s fixture will be a test to see who has the most powerful sting as both the Bees and the Hornets look to prove themselves after promotion to the National League North this season.

The Hornets were founded in 1912 as a works team for the Reyrolles company. They were the Tyneside League champions in the 1938/39 season, when they truly began to develop. Fast forward to 2021, Hebburn Town won the FA Vase after beating Consett 3-2 in a COVID-delayed fixture. The Tyne and Wear side were promoted to the Premier Division in 2024 and were champions in their second season. They now play in the National League North, their first-ever campaign at this level.
Hebburn manager Daniel Moore was appointed in 2022 and has provided the club with a breadth of success, winning two league titles in three seasons and securing the Durham Challenge Cup in 2023. However, recent fixtures in the National League North have proved difficult for Moore and his team. After suffering defeats to Scarborough Athletic and Oxford City, Hebburn Town will look to bounce back and utilise their home advantage against the Bees.

A key player that Harborough Town will need to keep a close eye on is Hebburn’s current top goalscorer, Jake Charles, who has 6 goals under his belt this season. Charles scored in the Hornets’ most recent fixture, a 2-2 draw against AFC Telford United. Bees captain Connor Kennedy will have to battle hard to keep Jake Charles quiet this weekend.
The away team are determined to put their midweek disappointment behind them after suffering a 3-0 defeat away at Buxton. The Harborough boys were unable to find a way through against the Bucks as they continue their wait for their first away league win of the season. The Bees look to resurrect the positive form that they were on prior to last Tuesday’s fixture, with victories against Southport and Spennymoor Town in the FA Cup.
Dempsey Arlott-John leads the scoring for the Bees heading into Saturday’s fixture. He has netted 5 competitive goals in yellow this season and is hungry for more. Dempsey has demonstrated his ability to deliver in crucial moments, most notably his perfect hat-trick in the FA Cup qualifying round against St Albans earlier this month. He is certainly one to watch.
